Today, T&D Europe, ENTSO-E, EU DSO Entity and Europacable have released a joint statement highlighting their collaborative efforts to strengthen the European manufacturing base. Following the Copenhagen Energy Infrastructure Forum in June 2024, cooperation had deepened to advance the objectives of Action 13 of the European Commission’s Grid Action Plan (2023).
A central pillar of this collaboration is the commitment to jointly deliver the European grid infrastructure of today and tomorrow, enabling European citizens and companies to access clean, affordable, and sovereign energy. This effort is underpinned by greater flexibility, efficiency, and innovation across the entire European value chain to support grid infrastructure projects.
Over the coming months, the four parties will assess the potential benefits of possible common practices on asset testing and qualification specifications, increased investment visibility, and collaboration in contributing to the planned revision of the EU’s procurement rules.
These efforts will lead to the development of a roadmap focused on assessing common technical approaches, contributing to the revision of EU’s public procurement rules, and continuing support for international standards and skilled workforce development.
