Welcome to the VI Annual Conference of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators: Regions for the Internal Energy market”, which will take place at the Brdo Congress Centre near Kranj, Slovenia, on Thursday, 29th June 2017.

The ”Clean Energy for all Europeans” presented by the European Commission in November last year stresses the regional dimension as an important middle-layer in the structure of the Internal Energy Market. While there is significant experience with voluntary regional cooperation initiatives, the Conference will aim to explore the formal regional governance outlined by the Clean Energy Package. Following the opening session, and interventions by the consumers associations on their expectations from the regional approach to market integration, the Conference will be structured in three sessions:

1) Regional scope – What should the regions focus on?
2) Regional geography: One region, one topic?
3) Regional Governance: How should it be set up?
